Instructor Bio:
Mr Kavanagh is Group Technology Director, for Wood Group’s Subsea companies and has 24 years industry experience. He holds a Primary Degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters Degree in Offshore Engineering, both from University College Cork, Ireland, and a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics. His early career was in vessel and offshore technology, working for the ship hydrodynamics group of Lloyds Register in London. He later worked as project manager and then General Manager of MCS in Galway, specialising in riser and mooring design and technology. He established MCS’s Houston office in 1999 and was responsible as president for the growth of MCS’s business in the US.
Mr Kavanagh has been responsible for several of MCS’s technology projects associated with risers , flexible pipes and integrity management and has authored over 20 papers in subsea, riser and integrity management technology. In 2009, he moved to new position as Technology Director of Wood Group’s Subsea companies. He has participated in several industry work groups, including the joint API/ISO task groups responsible for developing new codes of practice for Flexible Pipes, Floating Production Risers and Drilling Risers. He is also a member of the executive committee of ASME’s Petroleum Division.

Cancellations / Refunds:
Cancellations made through March 31, 2010 will receive a refund, less the non-refundable registration fee of $200. Refunds are not available after March 31, 2010. Substitutions for individuals enrolled may be made at any time. ASME-IPTI reserves the right to cancel a course if enrollment is insufficient to ensure maximum effectiveness. This decision is made approximately two weeks before the course begins. If this occurs, enrollees will receive a full refund or be given the opportunity to transfer to another course date. Keep our cancellation policy in mind when making airline reservations, as ASME-IPTI cannot be responsible for fees charged for canceling or changing your airline ticket. Students are responsible for handling all travel arrangements and the costs associated with their travel.
