Come to Shanghai for OMAE 2010. It is closer than you think!
Click here for a map of the Pudong area showing the Grand Hyatt Shanghai location with the address and telephone number in Chinese and English. We suggest that you bring a copy of this with you to facilitate your transit from the airport to the hotel.
By Air
Shanghai is the only Chinese city that has two international airports - Pudong International Airport and Hongqiao International Airport. The two modern airports are equipped with very advanced facilities.
We suggest that you take a taxi to the hotel upon arrival, as it is relatively inexpensive and the most convenient. For those who are flying out of Pudong International Airport at the conclusion of OMAE 2010, and want to experience the Maglev Train, you can take a taxi to the Maglev Train Station from the hotel and then take the train directly to Pudong International Airport.
By Car
In recent years, many highways have been built, linking Shanghai to other cities in the region, including Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou, etc. It only takes 2 hours to reach Shanghai from Hangzhou.
By Train
Shanghai has several train stations, but the major one is the Shanghai Railway Station. Shanghai's largest and oldest, it is located in Zhabei district, on the intersection of Metro Lines 1, 3 and 4. Practically all trains used to terminate here, including trains to Hong Kong. However southern services are being shifted out to the new South Station.
